Nikon F-Mount - M42 Screw Adapter5/6/2022 'Flaming June' - or not as the case may be.
A black and white photograph, taken through a glass door, of garden furniture getting a soaking in a down pour of rain. The effect is to make the patio look a little glass like. [Taken with an M42 Prinzflex 35mm f2.8 Auto Reflex lens, through a double glazed door panel, using a Nikon system F-Mount to M42 Screw Adapter. My previous photographs with this lens were with a Pentax system K-Mount to M42 Screw Adapter and I reckon this lens seems to be performing better with Nikon.]

Petunia has been Grounded5/6/2022 'Petunia's Last Stand' After a summers day - 3rd Jun 2022, then 20-25 mph winds, cold and rain - 4th Jun 2022 and colder again today - 5th Jun 2022 the #Petunias are on the deck. No great shakes in this crazy world. Disheartening though as they were just coming into their own.
A black and white photograph of 'beaten into submission' Petunias. Taken with an M42 Prinzflex 35mm f2.8 Auto Reflex lens. This lens seems to exhibit a swirl effect; which gives quite nice bokeh; moreover, it has a challenging depth of field blur I'm not too comfortable with; yet it's distortion is growing on me, for some subjects. More on the M42 Prinzflex 35mm4/6/2022 After calm, warm and sunny weather the previous day I was faced with 20mph winds, rain and cold conditions. Consequently, I only wanted to venture just outside my door. Really! The first thing I set eyes on was this flowerpot of wet and windswept blooms; they were though, at least, in the shelter of a wall.
Using my M42 screw mount Prinzflex 35mm f2.8 Auto Reflex lens with aperture set for f5.6 and a shutter speed of over 1/60sec I took this black and white photograph. As a relative close-up this result is better than my original parkland photographs taken with it. On balance then I reckon this a reasonable lens, not great but not too terrible either. Focus/contrast is good enough and its bokeh is quite pleasing. I'm still of the opinion that the lens renders softened images. I'm going to persevere though and try some landscapes. Lighting with a Twist31/5/2022 I bought a used M42 screw mount Prinzflex 35mm f2.8 Auto Reflex lens. It is taking a little getting used to. Not best suited to close work I'm finding. Producing very soft, with shallow depth of field and maybe even quite distorted, images; which, if I could happen on a suitable subject, could, kind of, leave one considering this lens as an 'Art' type optic. Anyway, the lens seems to be better at landscape distances and stopped down to at least f11.
So, this photograph is me playing around in a darkened room with a single light; simply seeing what I can get out of this old, cheap for a prime, and made in Japan lens. Author
